Deutsch: Das Sonntagsborn in der Ortsmitte ist das Wahrzeichen der Gemeinde und ziert auch das Ortswappen.

Nach der örtlichen Überlieferung hatte die Pest in Lauterbach bereits viele Menschenleben gefordert. Da vereinbarten die Einwohner in ihrer Not, sich nur noch an jedem Sonntag an diesem Brunnen zu treffen, um so die Ansteckung mit der Pest zu verhindern. Ein kleiner Teil der Einwohner überlebte.
