English: "I wanted to see Eugene Smith from the day I arrived in the United States, but I didn't see him until mid-October. He had just finished print of Dr. Schweizer's hospital in Africa. The first impression I had when I met him was that he was a living Van Gogh. He began to grow beards after he began printing Dr. Schweizer. I found his beard very interesting. "I'm a lot of people asking Why do you grow a beard when you are young? It's often said that Aer you ｍembers of religious ?" He was saying. This place is the Italian town of Greenwich Village.
