Description
English: * Dates from Lalanne's manuscript catalogue in the Print Collection, The New York Public Library (later entries by Frank Weitenkampf)
  • Etchings are numbered according to Lalanne's manuscript catalogue in the Print Collection, The New York Public Library.
  • Miscellaneous etchings, chiefly landscape & cityscape prints, including views of Bordeaux, Breda, Delft, Dives, Fribourg, Meudon, Nogent-sur-Marne, Paris, Rouen & the Seine River. One landcape is a reproductive print after awork by Théodore Rousseau. Other subjects include the châteaux of the baron de Crisenoy and Marshal MacMahon, the Gare du Nord, dead animals, & a trompe-l'oeil depiction of a business card with a turned-down corner. Some prints are miniature works. Some prints are present in more than one state.
  • Some prints include artist's signature & notations in graphite or black ink; some notations include information on state and/or edition size.
  • Title devised by cataloger.
  • Beneath the image, center: Esquisse pour le tableau de La Haie. At lower left: Gazette des Beaux-Arts.
