Vue d'Athènes : Olympieion et versant sud-ouest de l'Acropole - Cette épreuve reprend un angle de vue déjà utilisé par W.J. Stillman en 1869 lors d'une première campagne photographique des ruines de l'Acropole (album publié sous le titre The Acropolis of Athens). Par comparaison avec la planche n°4 de cet album, il convient de remarquer que le moulin au premier plan à gauche est désaffecté. La prise de vue a été réalisée après les disparitions de la Tour Franque (1875) et de la « cellule du stylite » au niveau de l'architrave de l'Olympieion (1874), mais avant la démolition du mur Serpentzès en 1877 par P.Cavvadias (1850-1928). |
