Hormis sa date, l'intérêt de ce moteur réside dans le circuit du rotor, il est en effet l'ancêtre de la cage d'écureuil. Constitué d'un fil en cuivre épais branché en court-circuit, totalement isolé en double couche coton sur toute sa longueur et de surcroit gainé d'un autre isolant dans les encoches qui sont légèrement inclinées, que l'on distingue très bien sur cette photo. L'on peut voir aussi que les deux cotés du rotor sont eux aussi isolés. Cette fabrication complexe à été très éphémère car l'invention de la cage d'écureuil plus simple de conception l'a très vitre remplacé. |
