Description
English: Huntsville, Alabama was home to the facilities the United States government used to develop the country's first space vehicles. For twenty years, Dr. Von Braun, right, focused the community's attention on space-related civic projects. He is shown here with his associate Dr. Ernst Stuhlinger. The photo was taken in Huntsville in 1956 at the Observatory of the Rocket City Astronomical Association.
