Title
English: Volunteer Park, 1910
Description
English: Seattle's Volunteer Park was named in honor of the men who served in the 1898 Spanish American War. The Olmsted Brothers' 1909 plan for the park included lawns, gardens, pavilions and play areas which were designed to harmonize with the surrounding Capitol Hill neighborhood.

This photo shows an area of Volunteer Park, with rose gardens, lawns, winding paths, and a water tower with an observation area. Three girls sit on the lawn in the late afternoon sun.
