Italiano: 𝗩𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗔 𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗔 [𝙰𝚗𝚝𝚘𝚗𝚒𝚘 𝙱𝚘𝚛𝚝𝚘𝚗𝚎 𝟷𝟿𝟷𝟾/𝟷𝟿𝟸𝟺 - 𝙿𝚒𝚊𝚣𝚣𝚊 𝙸𝚅 𝙽𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚖𝚋𝚛𝚎, 𝚁𝚞𝚏𝚏𝚊𝚗𝚘] Il simbolo della nostra comunità.

La statua raffigura la Vittoria Alata, secondo la sua classica iconografia, e rappresenta una donna che impugna una tromba in una mano e la corona d'alloro nell'altra. Sulla base di marmo, ai quattro lati, sono scolpiti i nomi dei caduti ruffanesi nelle due guerre mondiali.

Dopo la Prima Guerra Mondiale, in tutta Italia si avvertiva una forte esigenza di elaborare il lutto e commemorare gli eroi morti per la patria attraverso opere tangibili, come dimostrazione concreta di riconoscenza. Nacque un vero e proprio filone della monumentalistica bellica, incoraggiata anche dalla politica per scopi propagandistici, tanto da contare circa 12.000 monumenti in Italia realizzati nei primi anni '20.

Fra gli artisti pugliesi che diedero i più grandi contributi a questo filone, vi è proprio Antonio Bortone, e la Vittoria Alata di Ruffano è unanimamente ritenuto il più bello [𝙼𝚊𝚛𝚒𝚊 𝙻𝚞𝚌𝚒𝚊 𝙲𝚑𝚒𝚞𝚛𝚒, 𝙰𝚗𝚝𝚘𝚗𝚒𝚘 𝙱𝚘𝚛𝚝𝚘𝚗𝚎 𝚎 𝚒 𝙼𝚘𝚗𝚞𝚖𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚒 𝚊𝚒 𝙲𝚊𝚍𝚞𝚝𝚒 𝚙𝚎𝚛 𝚕𝚊 𝙿𝚊𝚝𝚛𝚒𝚊 𝚗𝚎𝚕 𝚂𝚊𝚕𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚘].
