The Research Vessel (R/V) Sikuliaq stopped at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) in August 2014 for some final outfitting, and the stopover provided an opportunity for visitors from Capitol Hill, the research community and the National Science Foundation to check out NSF’s newest research vessel. Captain Michael Hoshlyk (left) and Rep. Bill Keating of Massachusetts’ ninth congressional district, chat in front on the NSF logo on the ship’s main stack. For more on the ship, including a clip of the launch, check out this video. And for more on the port visit at Woods Hole, see NSF’s press release. Credit: Karen Pearce, National Science Foundation |
