In the centre the battle -which lasted 10 days- is brought back to 5 minutes of projection. The room is separated in de 4 points of the compass. North is for the civilians (Arnhem), West for the British Para’s (they came in from the west), East for the Germans and South for the Polish troops in the neighbourhood of the city of Driel and the only American who reached Arnhem. ‘Pal voor de John Frostbrug ligt sinds september 2007 de voornamelijk uit blank hout, linoleum en pvc buizen opgetrokken‘bunker’. Ontwerpbureau Tinker Imagineers is de vormgever van het Informatiecentrum Slag om Arnhem. Het tafelblad in 't midden is vormgegeven als digitale kaart die de troepenbewegingen weergeeft en op de randen van deze commandotafel is een tijdbalk aangebracht die de 24 dagdelen weergeeft en bij toerbeurt verlicht. Een stem somt per dagdeel op hoe en waar de bataljons van de Airborne Divisie dichterbij kwamen en waar zij bleven steken of doorstootten. Het bloedige en zware gevecht, dat 10 dagen duurde, is samengevat in 5 minuten. De ruimte is verdeeld in Noord, West, Oost en Zuid. De noordzijde is gereserveerd voor de burgers. Aan de westkant spreken de Britten, aan de oostkant de Duitsers. Aan de zuidzijde de Polen bij Driel en de enige Amerikaan die Arnhem bereikte. Niet iedereen is gecharmeerd van de opzet. Diverse mensen hebben grote moeite met de gekozen vormgeving omdat zij vinden dat de presentatie afleidt van de inhoud’.
