Description
English: Cedar Breaks is a relatively small National Monument bypassed by many on their way to Bryce or Zion National Parks. It is not to be missed though.

The name derives from the term used when a wagon train encountered a barrier to their path. Their progress was broken, so they called such areas 'Breaks'. They misnamed this one, though, because they though the trees down in the canyon were cedars. They are actually junipers.

Most people touring Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks neglect to stop at Cedar Breaks National Monument. They should not miss it.
