Vishandel De Voest (op nummer 5) was de laatste vishandel op de Vismarkt. Ze sloot op 9 mei 1970 haar deuren. Er is ook een foto van 10 jaar later: <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/oudutrecht/23522527353/">www.flickr.com/photos/oudutrecht/23522527353/</a> Ten tijde van deze foto (1920) verscheen er een stukje over de vismarkt in de krant "De oude vismarkt bestaat niet meer. Tegenwoordig koop je er moccataartjes, een derdehands luie stoel en een potje schoensmeer. En wijl een handelaar in deze onmisbare producten een luifel, een oude gevel en een schoon stadsbeeld zeer begrijpelijk aan zijn laars lapt, indien het zijn boterham geldt, zoo is er dies van het oude bitter weinig over." |
