ntly dark discoloration hasappeared over the malleoli of both feet, andover the olecranon processes. There is now be-ginning dry exfoliation, etc. The physical and mental examinations, re-peatedly made during the past several weeks, show the following additional symptoms: Cog-wheel respiration in upper lobe of ribt lung,rate of respiration, 16 to 24, pulse 90 to 120,temperature 99 to 101 F., blood pressure 115m.m., anemia, debility, but little emaciation,abdominal recti muscles somewhat tense, con-junctiva pale, headache. There is consstantgroaning and frowning, especially when movedas if in pain, disinclination to walk, as if suffering from dizziness, though she does not com-plain. Patellar reflexes are diminished. Examination of eyes by Dr. Wilcox showedonly pupillary contraction, though the pupilswere responsive to light. Eyes otherwise nor-mal in every respect. Mentally, there is mutism, indifference, andother indications of progressive dementia. Thepatient never smiles or laughs.
