From thatday (February 14th) until she died, the distinctremissions of remittent fever are noted in con-junction with typhoid fever symptoms. Theheighth of fever being, with one or more ex-ceptions, at 3 P.M.; the remission greatest ator about 9 A. M. This condition lasted untilMarch 4th, when character of temperaturechanged and gradually and fluctuatingly re-turned to normal on March 14th. This seemedthe end of the typhoid malarial fever, and pa-tient seemed to be very slowly recovering; onlytwice or so did she have any fever or disturb-ing symptoms, which lasted but a few hours,and soon subsided under a mild physic. On April 11th, twenty-eight days after sup-posed convalescence had started, patient com-plained of fatigue, was irritable, restless, hadvague pains, little fever, and desired to remainin bed. April 25th, signs of breaking down of parotidsubstance; we lanced it, and gave child con-siderable relief, the temperature, respirationand pulse falling, and never did become sohigh except just previous to death.
