Description
Español: Imagen con cuerpo de candelero, vestida con textiles bordados con hilos de plata y oro. Niño Dios escultura de bulto tallado, policromado y encarnado.

La Virgen del Carmen destaca por la mascarilla de metal y sus ojos de vidrios, con una policromía y encarnación blanquecina, así mismo sus manos talladas. Sobresale su postizo de pelo natural y el remate de su corona de plata burilada y cincelada.

Esta imagen perteneció a la señora María de la Luz Romo de Allende, quien tenía su propiedad en el Bajo de Melipilla, al lado del Rio Maipo, frente a Chocalán. Según cuenta un sacerdote de Malloco “que cuando el rio crecía y amenazaba con inundar la propiedad, sacaban en procesión la imagen y la colocaban al borde de las aguas y estas se desviaban dejando a salvo los terrenos”.
