Description What this vintage postcard from my collection shows is the old main station of Münster / Westfalen (Germany). It was erected from 1928-1930, using parts of the previous station buildings. It was less than 20 years old when it was completely destroyed during the air raids of WW II. The entire railway infrastructure of Münster has been severely damaged during the war because the stations and the railway lines in and around the city where strategically important. The architecture of the old station building shows influences from the Netherlands. This is not much of a surprise because Münster is close to the Dutch border. The postcard has been sent from Münster to Leverkusen-Bürrig in August 1933.
