Summary

[edit]
Description This vintage picture postcard from my collection shows the city of Aachen (Aix-la-Chapelle) as it was before the second world war. The postcard has been sent to Wuppertal-Elberfeld in the early 1940ies (the exact date is not legible), but it's obvious that the photo itself is probably older (late 1920ies or early 1930ies). Unlike most of my other postcards from this period this one is not a photographic print but a "Bromsilber-Imitation" instead. I assume this is meant to suggest that the printing method applied mimics a "real photo" which in fact it doesn't. The halftone dots are clearly visible.
