Description
Deutsch: Gesimsblock eines Rundbaus, 1. bis 3. Jh., Kalkstein. In der Kärntnerstraße 3 wurden 1974 drei Gesimsblöcke entdeckt. Anhand ihrer Krümmung lässt sich für den Rundbau ein Durchmesser von 4,4 m errechnen. Sie stammen vermutlich von einem kleinen Tempel. Meist wurden in solchen Kultbauten weibliche Gottheiten verehrt.
English: Cornice block from a rotunda, 1st to the 3rd century A.D., limestone. In Kärntnerstraße 3, three cornice blocks were discovered in 1974. Because of their curve, they can be ascribed to a rotunda with a diameter of 4.4 metres. It is likely to be a small temple. In such buildings, female deities were often worshipped.
