Description
English: Villa Wertheimber at Gustavsgarten, Bad Homburg
Deutsch: Villa Wertheimber im Gustavsgarten, Bad Homburg. Verkäufer des 64.500 qm großen Geländes an der Tannenwaldallee 50 waren die Nachkommen der Prinzessin Caroline von Hessen-Homburg, spätere Fürstin Reuß zu Greiz (1819-1872). Bauherr seines Familien-Sommersitzes war der aus fränkisch-jüdischer Großfamilie stammende, später zum Protestantismus konvertierte Frankfurter Privatbankier Julius Wertheimber (1855-1935) des Bankhauses Wertheimber & Co., Taunusanlage 15, der hier für seine Ehefrau Katharina (Ketty), seine Tochter Juliane und dem 1914 im Ersten Weltkrieg gefallenen Sohn Eugen Julius diese Villa errichten ließ. Nach der Akazien-Allee auf dem Grundstück nannte der Bauherr seine Villa Accatius. Architekt der 1900 errichteten Villa nebst Pförtnerhaus war der renomierte Frankfurter Architekt Franz van Hoven (1842-1924). Seine Stadtimmobilie in Frankfurt, Myliusstraße behielt er bei. Die Familiengrabstätte Wertheimber hat sich auf dem Frankfurter Hauptfriedhof erhalten.
