Italiano: Splendido esempio di villa con giardino all’italiana, Caprile venne costruita a partire dal 1640 dal marchese bergamasco Giovanni Mosca, discendente di una nobile famiglia lombarda che si trasferì nelle Marche nel 1550, in seguito all’ottenimento dell’investitura del castello di Gradara. A Caprile il nobile volle realizzare la sua residenza estiva in cui trascorrere villeggiature e tenere ricevimenti, attribuendole fin dall’inizio una destinazione di svago. Questa tesi è confermata da una descrizione ritrovata nel diario di viaggio di monsignor Lancisi, mandato da papa Clemente XI Albani nel ducato di Urbino. Dopo aver delineato la struttura e le decorazioni della villa, il monsignore si sofferma in particolare sui giochi d’acqua dei giardini, in cui . Il più importante intervento di ristrutturazione fu eseguito nel 1763, dal discendente Carlo Mosca, a cui si deve l’impianto architettonico giunto fino ai nostri giorni.Destinata come già detto a fini di ricevimento e villeggiatura, Villa Caprile ospitò personaggi molto importanti, tra cui si possono ricordare Casanova, Stendhal, Rossini e Leopardi.Il marchese Francesco Mosca, impegnato nella divulgazione della fede giacobina, nel 1797 ospitò anche Napoleone Bonaparte. Fu ancora lui che, dopo aver innalzato “l’albero della libertà” trasformò la villa da sito elitario ed aristocratico a luogo di fruizione pubblica. Dopo poco però la residenza tornò ad accogliere personalità illustri, grazie anche alla vita mondana condotta da Carolina di Brunswick, principessa del Galles, che prese Caprile in affitto nelle estati del 1817 e 1818. Solo nel 1876, con il risorgere delle Accademie, Caprile venne acquistata dall’Accademia Agraria per poter dar vita alla Colonia Agricola, con il patto di non stravolgere l’impianto architettonico esistente.
