Description |
The experts at Christie's described this vessel as a barkentine, which she clearly was not. They used the name Gerson M...., which must be a misunderstanding. She was the Gerson, owned by Moses & Søn, G. Melchior in Copenhagen and built for her owners in Sweden (Döderhultsvik, Kalmar) in 1851. In 1888 she was sold to Harald Fischer & H. Rasmussen of Korsør, Denmark and became the Dagmar. In 1896 she got Swedish owners (L.E. Nielsson of Råå) and our Danish sources lost track of her. http://www.jmarcussen.dk/maritim/skibsliste/side.php?id=9415 (in Danish). |
