The Chinese Village included, also, a Joss House and theatre, which, likethe cafe, had a constant patronage from the curious. 11

The Worlds Congress of Beauty was, as can be imagined, a congress of women. Between fortyand fifty representatives of different nationalities, all of them types of loveliness, were gathered here,and dressed in their respective national or racial costumes, made a perfect beauty show.
