| Description |
English: View south-westwards across the Broadmeadow estuary from the doomed Malahide Viaduct This was the view from viaduct on the day it was inspected following reports of damage to one of the arches. The inspection concluded that the damage was cosmetic rather than structural. Three days later the viaduct collapsed into the waters of the estuary. By sheer good fortune there was no train crossing at that moment.
