Description
English: Men and horse-drawn carriages assembled along Broadway, looking south across Chestnut Street. The western entrance to the Old Court House is visible on the left. The Laclede Hotel is located on the west side of Broadway, on the right sie of the photograph. The hotel later became the site of Kiener Plaza. The Laclede Hotel is located on the west side of Broadway, on the right side of the photograph. Politicians and elected officials in the 1880s and 1890s often congregated in the hotel's rotunda. The site on which the hotel stood later became the site of Kiener Plaza.
