Local call number: FFL1951 Title: View of the Wakulla Springs Lodge Date: November 12, 1986 General note: Financier Edward Ball began construction on the Wakulla Springs Lodge in 1935. Using materials harvested on-site, Ball built a destination hotel for his business partners and tourists alike. During World War II, Wakulla Springs served as a military training site. The State of Florida acquired Ball's land and the lodge after his death and now operates Wakulla Springs State Park. Visitors can swim in the springs, take boat tours down the Wakulla River, stay in the hotel, or simply enjoy the natural beauty of the site. Physical descrip: 1 photonegative - b&w - 35 mm.
