Description JSC2000-E-23502 (11 September 2000) --- Cosmonaut Yuri I. Malenchenko, STS-106 mission specialist, completes donning his thermal underwear prior to putting on the outer garment called the extravehicular mobility unit (EMU). Malenchenko, representing the Russian Aviation and Space Agency, was about to spend a period in excess of six hours outside Atlantis along with astronaut Edward T. Lu (out of frame at right).
