Also referred to online as the 'Duomo Cupola' or the plain ol' 'top of the Duomo.' 'Duomo' means 'cathedral' in Italian. Feel free to sneak a peek at the fourth shot in this photo set, to see how the Duomo looks from afar. Florence completed the cupola in 1434, more than a half-century before Columbus reached the Americas. (It's called the Old World for a reason.) You too can climb to the tippy-top, if:
