Description
English: Creator: Unidentified.

Location: Coolangatta, Tweed Heads, Queensland.

Description: The hill in the background is Mount Murraba, and the two foremost buildings are The Hotel Grande and its adjoining Cafe.

Coolangatta is situated in the Bundjalung traditional Aboriginal country. The Yugambeh language and people are local custodians in the Bundjalung traditional Aboriginal country. Coolangatta was formally established as a border town in 1883, named in honour of the Coolangatta Schooner that was wrecked at Kirra Beach several decades earlier. Cullunghutti or Coolangatta is the name associated with the Coolangatta Mountain, which is recognized and declared an Aboriginal place of great significance.
