| Description |
English: View north-west along dismantled railway. Immediately north of bridge FWWI 1666, which takes Wymondham Road over the dismantled railway trackbed, the path following the cutting's course is taken up steps > 1612404 leading up from the cutting and emerging on the road, a short distance further to the south > 1612480. Access onto the railway trackbed is blocked by a fence just on the other side of the bridge. This view was taken in north-westerly direction from underneath the bridge, looking along the dismantled trackbed.
The cutting forms a section of the dismantled trackbed of the cut-off railway line which ran between Forncett and Wymondham. The originally single-track line was used for main line diversion trains during the floods of 1912 and it was doubled for military purposes during WWI.
