Summary

[edit]
Description
English: View from the In Pinn The Inaccessible Pinnacle (often abbreviated to "In Pinn") is the highest point of Sgurr Dearg and involves a moderate rock climb to ascend it - quite straight-forward but very exposed.

The righthand foreground rock is known as the Bolster Stone - it is used as an anchor point for abseiling off the In Pinn's shorter (but near vertical) west ridge - and is the true top of this Munro. Clambering onto it is fairly easy, clambering down less so, and both moves require a head for heights.

Prior to the winter of 2006/2007 the bolster stone wasn't quite the top of the hill, sitting slightly beneath the rocks just to the east. It is thought that a bolt of lightning changed the shape of the hill (albeit in a small but important way) for ever.
