Description

after crossing into bethlehem, i first took a taxi out of town to the Herodium, the ruins of one of king herod's palaces. the Herodium is on the top of and built into a tel, a large mound.

this is the view from the about 2/3 of the way up the hill to the entrance of the ruins. the green patches are israeli settlements in the west bank countryside.
