Description
English: View from St.Mary’s Church tower of Beverley and the Minster looking from the north west. The large building and its chimney is the Golden Ball Brewery, which was off Toll Gavel.

In 1695, the making of malt and oatmeal and the tanning of leather became the three main trades of Beverley. A brewer named Robert Stephenson bought the Brewery in 1797, it became a long established family firm, brewing reduced and production ended after his death in 1919.
