Summary
[edit]DescriptionView from Rope Lake Head - geograph.org.uk - 769116.jpg |
English: View from Rope Lake Head The beach below is to the east of Rope Lake Head, and is only accessible on foot along the shore from Kimmeridge - there is a real danger of being cut off by the tide, which reaches several headlands along the intervening coast at high water. The cliffs are of Kimmeridge Clay; steep and crumbling. The bay is called Rope Lake Hole - "Rope Lake" is a synonym for waterfall, where 'lake' is used in the local sense, meaning a stream. |
