| Description |
English: View eastwards from viewing deck at top of Spinnaker Tower, Portsmouth The photo covers in azimuth from grid 10 to 150 degrees, which is the most you can see from this side of the deck whilst standing in a fixed position. The dark thing at left is the track of the external lift. The vertical black line at right is one of the sealant joins in the glass; there are several of these.
The blue, partially built, tower centre right is Number 1 Gunwharf Quays. The grey roofs to the right of the train cover Gunwharf Quays shopping centre. The dark grey rectangle in middle distance is the Zurich Insurance building. The glass in the Spinnaker Tower is angled and it was impossible to avoid the reflections, even with a polarising filter. The glass is also thick and imparts a greenish tint to the view which I have removed by setting an appropriate white balance. |
