| Description |
English: View across Chapman's Pool Looking across Chapman's Pool from the beach close to the boathouses, towards Houns-tout cliff. The top of the cliff is about 150 metres above sea level in the cove. The clay cliffs are slowly retreating and blocks of limestone falling from the top of the cliff. There was once a carriage drive to Encombe across the front of the cliff (a route from one valley to another, avoiding the intervening hill) but it has largely been destroyed by landslips. |
