Description
English: Print, The Protestant Episcopal Parish Church of Montreal. Completed 1821.
Français : Estampe, Église paroissiale épiscopale protestante de Montréal, achevée en 1821.

Archives du Musée McCord / Estampe, 1822. La première cathédrale Christ Church / William Berczy. La construction de cette église, entamée vers 1806, s'étendit sur une quinzaine d'années. Elle est représentée ici, lorsqu'elle fut complétée. Malheureusement,en 1856, un incendie d'une force incroyable réduit en cendre ce témoin de l'histoire du secteur des rues Saint-Laurent et Notre-Dame dans l'ancien Montréal. Moins de trois ans plus tard, soit en 1859, une seconde Christ Church était construite mais cette fois, dans un des quartiers les plus huppés de Montréal, sur rue Sainte-Catherine en haute ville: le "Golden Square Mile" www.flickr.com/photos/urbexplo/691383999

Un fast-food McDonald occupe ce coin de rue aujourd'hui.
