| Description |
English: Advance elements of the 1st Cav Div (Air Mobile) began arriving in Vietnam in Aug 1965, assisted by the 101st Abn Div, that launched a search and clear operation and set up and manned perimeter defense in the vicinity of An Khe and the 502nd Abn Bn that provided air support to the 101st. The main body of troops and equipment landed on the beach at Qui Nhon and was transported to An Khe via air and overland convoy.
