Description
Deutsch: Am 03. April 1893 fuhr an dieser Stelle das erste Auto von Süchteln nach Venlo in den Niederlanden. Es war ein Benz Patentwagen Nr.3. Fahrer und Eigentümer war Richard Freudenberg, ein Unternehmer und ehemaliger Bürgermeister aus Süchteln. Er fuhr die Strecke von 16 km in unter einer Stunde. Zu Fuß benötigt man 4 Stunden.

Ein Karren, der sich selbst antreibt, erregte große Aufmerksamkeit. Dieses wichtige Ereignis war der Beginn der Geschichte des grenzüberschreitenden motorisierten Personen- und Güterverkehrs und der wirtschaftlichen Entwicklung zwischen Viersen, Venlo und Limburg, den Niederlanden und Deutschland.
