Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Halftone, Court sized, Undivided back, 12.10 x 8.70 cm. A lovely character sketch by the artist M.V. Dhurandhar of a carriage driver in turn of the century, Bombay. The name "Victoria" was based on elegant French carriages, pulled by one or two horses, used by fashionable ladies in Paris, and imported in the 1870s to Britain by Edward VII, then the Prince of Wales.
