| Description |
English: Victoria Cross A little South of Lastingham, this cross and bench are located at a fine viewpoint on the limestone escarpment.
The cross is dated 1837, I think erected to mark the Coronation of Queen Victoria. The Bench is dated 1953 and was placed here to mark Coronation of Queen Elizabeth 2. Considering the bench is now about 50 years old it's holding up well, although it is a little rickety and will not last much longer. |
