Description
The Alexandra had a long career in Sweden as the Nyland, followed by a short career in Denmark. She was built at William Lindbergs Verkstads och Varfs AB, Stockholm in 1875 as yard no. 111. Between 1875 and 1881 the Nyland was employed on the route Härnösand-Nyland-Noraström, and then from 1881 to 1932 between Härnösand-Nyland-Sundsvall. Sold to I. H. Weiböl of Copenhagen in 1932 and sold on to Nordisk Rute- & Færgefart A/S of Copenhagen in 1933. In June 1933 they changed her name to Alexandra. From 1933 to 1935 she sailed on the route Copenhagen-Rungsted-Ven and 1934-1935 she also sailed between Copenhagen and Dragør. Laid up in 1935 and sold for scrap in June 1939 to Petersen & Albeck of Copenhagen.
