Description
The N. C. Monberg was built by Burmeister & Wain (Yard no. 554) in Copenhagen in 1928 for Det Danske Kulkompagni in Copenhagen. The company transported coal to Denmark, and the ship was in England in April 1940, when Denmark was occupied by Germany. She was taken over by the Ministry of War Transportation and given a British crew. On December 15, 1940 she was torpedoed by a German S-boat off Harwich and sunk.
