Description
English: Viable Ascaris sp. egg that has been treated with Jik (a sodium hypochlorite based South African household disinfectant), at the recommended dilution (as indicated on the bottle. Sodium hypochlorite is known to decorticate the egg upon exposure - The outer layer of the egg has been removed, hence the loss of colour. The larva within appeared agile upon exposure to the disinfectant.
