| Description |
Íslenska: Viðeyjarstofa er eitt elsta hús landsins og fyrsta stein-húsið sem reist var á Íslandi. Var hún byggð á árunum 1752-1755 sem embættisbústaður Skúla Magnússonar nýskipaðs landfógeta. Kostaði Danakonungur framkvæmdina og hirðarkitekt hans, Nicolai Eigtved, teiknaði húsið í rókókóstíl. Stofan var bústaður valdamestu manna landsins um margra áratuga skeið. Má þar m.a nefna Ólaf Stephensen, fyrsta íslenska stiftamtamanninn og son hans Magnús Stephensen konferensráð og dómstjóra. |
