Description
Deutsch: Der Berg ist heute 1281 m hoch. Er besteht aus den Resten eines früher wesentlich höheren, älteren Schichtvulkans, des Somma, dessen Spitze bei seinem letzten Ausbruch 79 n. Chr. zu einer Caldera eingestürzt ist, und dem im Inneren des Einsturzbeckens neugebildeten Kegel des „eigentlichen“ Vesuv. Aufnahme von 2017.
