Description
English: This boat is called Vestmenningur, it is a wooden rowboat from the village Vestmanna in the Faroe Islands. The ship behind it is a sail ship from Klaksvík, which is called Dragin. The boat is on its way out to the start of the Ólavsøka rowing competition 2010 for 10-mannafør for men. In the back ground there is a traditional wooden house with turf roof. This photo was taken on 28 July 2010 in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands. Vestmenningur won this race, they also won silver at the FM 2010 (Faroese Rowing Championship 2010).
Føroyskt: Vestmenningur er 10-mannafar. Her rógva teir út til málið á Ólavsøku 2010. Vestmenningur vann Ólavsøkuróðurin og so vunnu teir silvur til FM 2010.
Dansk: Vestmenningur er en færøsk robåd. Dette billede er taget den 28. juli 2010 til Olaj festen (Ólavsøkuaftan) til kaproningen.
