8 Joseph W. Vestal & Son's Illustrated and Descriptive Catalogue. Page of Famous New Roses. Clara Barton. New Hardy Everblooming Rose. We ask special attention to this lovely new rose. It was named by special permission in honor of MISS CLARA BARTON, President of the World's Red Cross Society. It is the result of a union be- tween the splendid American Beauty Rose and the beautiful Clothilde Soupert. The flowers are very large, perfectly double and wonderfully sweet, and each one is set in a pretty rosette of leaves, making- it an ele- gant bouquet in itself. The color is delicate flesh pink, with deep rose center ; the bush is quite hardy and a tremendous bloomer, continuing loaded with flowers the whole season. Price, 15 cents each. Lady Joy. Again we have the good for- tune to offer to the public a grand new seedling rose, Lady Joy. This beautiful rose is a cross be- tween the American Beauty and Belle Siebrecht. Its blooming qualities cannot be excelled, each and every eye and shoot produc- ing a flower, the size being equal to if not larger than its parent, American Beauty. The blooms are cup shape, very double, and open most beautifully, emitting a most delicious perfume. In color it is deeper than the Amer- ican Beauty, a peculiar and new crimson luster, most striking and beautiful, resembling an ar- tificial flower, being a vigorous grower, making a compact plant, with deep green leaves. For a forcing rose it is excellent, and for out door culture cannot be excelled. We can truthfully be- speak for this new rose as being an acquisition and should be in every greenhouse and garden. Price, 20 cents each. Ada Carmody. This is a new Tea rose of exquisite beauty, but the colors are so delicate it is very difficult to describe. The ground color is ivory white, beautifully tinted and edged with different shades of pink and rose, the center elegantly tinted with yel- low. The flowers are large, full and deep. It makes fine long buds and is a most charming variety in every way. Price, 15 cents each.

LADY JOY. New Hybrid Tea Rose... Killarney. The color is an exquisite shade of deep shell pink, petals of enormous size. It is free in growth, throwing up numerous strong, heavy shoots, which are crowned with long, heavy buds. Although the expanded flower is not very full, yet the buds are fine and keep a long time when cut. Price, 20 cents. Johanna Wesselhoff. This is the grandest yellow rose we have ever seen. It is as good a yellow rose as Perle des Jar- dins, and is a much better grower. Perle des Jar- dins has the fault in some locations of being a slow grower. Johanna Wesselhoff is a strong, vigor- ous grower and thrives everywhere. The bud is of the largest size, while the open flower is enor- mous for a rose ; the color is the deepest golden yellow, very rich, while the fragrance is simply delicious; altogether one of the grandest roses. Price, 15 cents each. White Lady. The flowers are inexpressibly grand—creamy white, faintly flushed with delicate pink, magnifi- cent, Magnolia-like petals, in size immense, full, deep and dark. It flowers with great freedom; one of the first in bloom and the last to bloom in Autumn. Price, 25 cents each. Mile. Ger. Trochon. An entirely new color, with hardiness and free- dom of bloom to commence with. It is orange yellow, with shades of fawn, buff and light yellow. Resembles Sunset in color. Price, 15 cents each. Bessie Brown. A rose of transcendant beauty, totally distinct and one of the largest and fullest we have ever seen. Erect and vigorous in growth, flowering profusely in open ground all through the summer. Color a pure white, sometimes faintly flushed pink. Petals enormous, shell shaped. Price, 20 cents each.
