32 Joseph W. Vestal & Son's Illustrated and Descriptive Catalogue. The Rambler Roses. ( 4 Varieties. 4 Different Colors. The Crimson Rambler, intense dazzling- crimson. The White Rambler, pure pearl white. The Pink Rambler, clear bright Pink. The Yellow Rambler, fine Golden Yellow. All perfectly hardy, fine for porches, verandas, trellises, etc. Immensely popular. Try them. Crimson Rambler. The plant is of a very vigorous growth, making shoots from eight to ten feet during the season, rendering it a charming pillar rose. It is also magnificent in bush form, and for covering buildings, trellises, etc., it cannot be excelled. One of the striking characteristics of this rose is its remarkable color, which is of the brightest crimson, which remains undimmed in the end, show- ing none of the objectionable purple tint so common in crimson roses. The flowers are produced in great pyramidal panicles, or trusses, each carrying from thirty to forty blooms, the individual flowers measur- ing about one to one and a half inches in diameter, and remaining perfect on the plant for upward of two weeks with their freshness of color unimpaired. The foliage is a bright green and glossy, and contrasts finely with the bright crimson of the flowers. It is hardy in every latitude tried as far north as the lakes. As a decorative pot plant it cannot be excelled. Price, 10 cents each; splendidtwo year old plants, 30c each." White Rambler. (Thalia.) In habit of growth, foliage, manner of bloom- ing, form of flowers and hardiness it is said to be identical with Crimson Rambler, of which it is a blood relative, but that the flowers are pure snow white and sweetly scented, while the flowers of Crimson Rambler are not. The flowers remain on the bush from three to five weeks; beautiful to behold. Price, 10 cents each ; two year old plants, 30 cents each. Pink Rambler. (Euphrosyne.) The Pink Rambler completes the entire range of cardinal colors that can be embraced in these beau- tiful climbing roses. We now have the Crimson Ram- bler, the Yellow Rambler, the White Rambler and the Pink Rambler. This rose is as charming as any of its rivals, embracing all their good qualities of hardiness, vig- orous growth, profuse blooming and delightful fragrance. Be sure to have a set of the Rambler Roses. Price, 10c each. Yellow Rambler. (Aglaia.) The flowers are borne in immense clusters, after the same manner as the Crimson Rambler, often as many as one hundred and fifty blossoms in a bunch, and the trusses have the same handsome pyramidal shape as those of the Crimson Rambler. The color is a decided yellow. The habit of growth is very vigorous, well established plants often making shoots from eight to ten feet in height in a single season. The plants do not bloom at quite so early an age as the Crimson Ram- bler, but as soon as well established they more than make up for this by the magnificence of â their flowers. Price, 10 cents each; two year ' old plants, 25 cents each.
