Nederlands: De medailles waren oorspronkelijk in bezit van de grootvader, Heinrich Friedl.

Hij woonde in Mosbach. Zijn zoon werd in de Tweede Wereldoorlog tewerkgesteld maar al een jaar later bevrijd door de Amerikanen. In dezelfde tijd besloot Friedl zijn medaille te begraven, uit angst dat de Amerikanen ze in beslag zou nemen. Hijzelf was verwent anti-nazi. Toen een van zijn zoons naar het front moest worden gestuurd, probeerde hij nog diens arm te breken. Nadat dit mislukte, werd de zoon naar het oostfront gestuurd waar hij omkwam door het schot van een sluipschutter. Toen vorig jaar de woning van het laatste levende Duitse familielid werd uitgeruimd, werden te medailles terug gevonden in een kistje dat in een vaas verstopt zat.

Vorig jaar woning van laatst-levende van Duitse familie leeggeruimd, medailles van opa tegengekomen.
