English: This newspaper notice, that George Wythe Sweney was found "not guilty" for the murder of his grand-uncle, was published in the Newport Mercury, in Newport, Rhode Island, on September 20, 1806. It is a re-printing of the notice published ten days earlier, on September the 10th, by editor Thomas Ritchie, in his Richmond, Virginia based newspaper, called The Enquirer. |
